The Skokie Police Department is comprised of 162 agency members, with 14 peer support members, serving law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, dispatchers, and department support staff. Their Peer Support program originated in 2017. Members are trained through peer support curriculums, including Crisis Associates and BRAVE Center, and peer support members are to attend bi-annual team meetings. Aside from peer support, other wellness programs that the department offers includes EAP, an in-house clinician, an in-house chaplain, wellness spaces, and annual mental wellness checks.

The department’s peer support coordinators are available to coordinate assistance to outside agencies for one on one peer support requests, critical incident response, and program development or implementation collaboration.
