The Addison Consolidated Dispatch Center is comprised of 50 agency members, with 11 peer support members, serving dispatchers. Their Peer Support program originated in 2020. Members are trained through peer support curriculums, including Crisis Associates and Dr. Michele Lilly’s Peer Support Training for 9-1-1 Dispatchers.
Aside from peer support, other wellness programs that the department offers includes EAP, an in-house (Addison PD) chaplain, wellness spaces, and annual mental wellness checks.
The department’s peer support coordinators are available to coordinate assistance to outside agencies, as well as collaboration in program development and implementation.
