On Wednesday, June 5, 2019, Cook County Sheriff Correctional Officer Robert Edwards suffered a medical emergency at the jail. His fellow officers, as well as members of the Chicago Fire Department, rendered aid to him, but he tragically passed away at the hospital. Officer Edwards joined the Cook County Sheriff’s Office in 2005. He is survived by his wife and three children.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Edwards family and the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.
