What does the 100 Club of Illinois do?
The 100 Club of Illinois provides resources, several forms of financial support, access to training, and moral support to both the families of first responders killed in the line of duty and active duty first responders throughout the state of Illinois. All sworn federal, state, county, and local first responders stationed in Illinois are included
Who receives benefits?
Our benefits go to surviving spouses, dependents, and surviving parents if they were dependent on the fallen hero for their support. Our educational assistance is available to surviving spouses and dependent children. All sworn federal, state, county and local first responders stationed in Illinois are included.
Do all deaths qualify for coverage by the 100 Club of Illinois?
What support does the 100 Club of Illinois provide?
.A representative from the 100 Club of Illinois meets with surviving family members within 24 hours following the loss of life in the line of duty. The family is then presented with the immediate financial assistance of up to $50,000 and access to the support and resources of the Club. The 100 Club representative works with the family, department, and other statewide support services to ensure the family has access to every resource they need.
The Educational Assistance Program provides financial assistance for dependents for their undergraduate, vocational education, and graduate studies. Currently, there are 32 dependents receiving assistance from the program and there are an additional 84 children who will be eligible for assistance as they reach college age.
Beginning in March 2021, the First Responder programs support active-duty first responders and their departments in obtaining safety and wellness training, funds, and resources for preventative wellness and emergency response This program aims to create a safety net around our first responders and provide them with the tools they need to be safe, healthy, and resilient.
What level of support has been provided in the past?
The 100 Club of Illinois has provided benefits to 316 families of fallen public safety professionals. Total benefits have exceeded $16 million.

What’s the history of the 100 Club? Where did the name come from?
In 1950, a Detroit businessman asked 100 of his friends and associates to help the family of a slain police officer. Since then, 100 Clubs have developed in many cities and countries around the world – including the 100 Club of Illinois.
